We’re all about making waves at Soaky Mountain Waterpark, and our very own General Manager, “Soaky Dave” Andrews, is making quite a splash of his own!
In addition to recently receiving the 2026 Attraction General Manager of the Year Award for Sevierville at the Sevier County Hospitality and Tourism Association’s Stars of the Industry Awards, Dave was just awarded the World Waterpark Association’s (WWA) Executive Board Award at the WWA Show trade show
This prestigious award recognizes an individual or organization for special accomplishments in the water leisure industry that advances industry knowledge and expertise for the benefit of WWA members. And if you know Dave, you know this recognition is well deserved!
According to one of the nominations WWA received for Dave, “Dave exemplifies the spirit of community and mentorship that is the heart of the World Waterpark Association.
“A longtime member of the water park industry, he is always available to give his time and knowledge to others in the field, from employees at his own parks to colleagues within the organization and industry as a whole.”
Since Soaky Mountain first opened its gates in June 2020, Dave has led our team as general manager, bringing a unique blend of industry expertise, enthusiasm and a passion for helping other team members succeed. But his commitment to making a difference goes back even further. Before his career in attractions, Dave started out as an educator, and that passion for teaching and sharing knowledge continues to shine through in everything he does.
Throughout his career, Dave has helped waterparks from California to Tennessee find success, all while inspiring the next generation of attractions professionals. He regularly connects with students of all ages to share the exciting career opportunities available in the attractions industry, with a special focus on how waterparks can help bring STEM education to life in the communities they serve.
From mentoring industry colleagues to inspiring future leaders, Dave’s impact reaches far beyond the slides and pools. This WWA Award and his previous recognition by the Sevier County Hospitality and Tourism Association celebrate not only what an outstanding leader Dave is, but also the fact that he truly believes in lifting others up along the way.
Congratulations, Soaky Dave! We’re lucky to have you leading the way at Soaky Mountain, and we are so proud of you!
