Earlier this spring, we welcomed Christian to our team as our new Operations Director. After working for large indoor waterparks in Southern California, Pennsylvania, and Texas for the last 15 years, Christian is super excited to see the sun! He is also an active member of the World Waterpark Association and IAAPA, global associations for the waterpark industry.
We are thrilled to have him on our team and thought we would take a moment to introduce him to you.
Name: Christian T.
Title: Operations Director
So, what does your title mean you do at Soaky?
I manage, direct, and oversee all operational aspects of the waterpark, which encompasses the cleanliness, friendliness, and safety of the park alongside their respective leaders.
What is the best part of your job?
It’s cliché, but always true, the people. They are the glue that keeps any structure or company together.
How long have you worked at the Soaky and in what roles?
I joined this great team in March.
What is your favorite attraction at Soaky?
My favorite Soaky attraction is The Edge water coaster – I love the intensity of the ride, the colors, and logo on the boomerang walls! Plus – seeing it daily as I pass by the local road or when I’m headed to work really makes it stand out.
Favorite food at Soaky?
As a former Pennsylvania native, I love a good Philly Cheese Steak! Philly up it is.
A piece of advice for first-time guests?
Come hungry (but eat a light breakfast), stay hydrated, and try all rides at Soaky!
Now for some fun stuff:
Where were you born?
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York – lived in Pennsylvania, Austin, and Houston, Texas, and most recently Southern California.
Are you a dog or a cat person?
I’ve got two beloved dogs, who I like to spend plenty of time with. As a nerd, some might be able to guess where the origins of their names come from. I have a 10-year-old Labrador mix named Grayon. Do not be deceived, age is only a number for him; he is still very much behaves like a puppy. Secondly, I have a female named Marvel, who’s 6-years-old, and a border collie mix. She definitely gets the prize for being the loudest in the room.
Favorite toy when you were a kid?
I loved playing with G.I. Joes as a kid! But I’m also a huge advocate of chess and like to think of myself as a grandmaster (Ha! Not even close).
All-time favorite movie?
This is a challenging question as I am a movie fanatic, but my favorite movie is likely Oppenheimer (Shout out to Oak Ridge)
What all-time favorite TV series?
Undoubtedly, Breaking Bad.
Favorite ice cream flavor?
Simple – vanilla, with sprinkles, that is all.
What toppings do you like on your pizza?
Have you ever tried Chicago deep dish? THAT. Otherwise, plain cheese. If I needed to choose toppings, it would be feta cheese, green peppers, and chicken!
